pandalot:

So all this mapcrunch stuff has reminded me of Carmen Sabdiego

What happened with that franchise? Why hasn’t that gotten a reboot? There is such a nostalgia market for that, shit, I’d buy it.

Waiting for someone to adapt the LA Noire engine for a Carmen Sandiego reboot. Gritty or course.

I hate being so goddamn socially inept.

I took a stroll through my mall’s Hot Topic on my break, mostly because I was promised Hunger Games merch that was not fulfilled… :c and I noticed that there was a new employee there, or at least new to me. She was one of the prettiest trans girls I’ve ever…

I often find that it’s easier to approach someone for potential creative work, if you have some form of work card.  It helps to minimize the awkwardness.  Also it helps to make people feel more comfortable with you.  Business cards do wonders in helping to make a potential customer or talent feel a little more at ease and avoid the “weird stalker/murderer” vibe.

Also (and I know this is easier said then done) sometimes it just takes throwing caution and awkwardness to the wind and just running with it.  Be self confident and believe in yourself.  I try to channel a little Han Solo when I do business.  I believe I’m the most scruffy bad ass around capable in doing the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs.  Sounds weird, but it works.

That’s another thing… if I had business cards ready to just hand out freely, I think I’d be more inclined to approach people. That simple gesture in itself presents me as a professional, and not a creeper. Sadly, I’ve yet to get my business cards made. :c

As cliched as it sounds, Vistaprint is a cheap and quick site for some immediate business cards.  They also usually have some sort of sale happening at any point and time.  Any sort of card is better then no card, and their’s is a good place holder till you can get fancier ones done up.
